The Jean Dilemma

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by the jeans selection in your favorite store. See, I knew I wasn’t the only one! I am constantly struggling to find jeans that I love. Not only am I too tall for a regular length pair of jeans, I also need a pair that will fit my curvy full-figure body. So, I typically end up having in store melt downs because nothing fits, or I just have to bite the bullet and order online without a clue of how the purchase will turn out.

I actually tried on these jeans in Old Navy a few weeks ago and I immediately regretted not purchasing them when I walked out of the store. They were the perfect wash and had a super cute raw hem, they just didn’t hit me at the right length for an ankle jean. I eventually decided to order them online and they arrived after about one week. Don’t get me wrong, Old Navy is definitely my go to place for jeans, but I can’t help but feel frustrated about their sizing sometimes.

When I originally tried on these pants in the store they fit me like a glove, but of course once I try on the pair I ordered they fit me completely different. If you ask me, a tall 18 should be just as tight as a regular 18... but these literally fit a size bigger almost. And I am not about to have a saggy butt whenever I wear them. Hopefully a run in the dryer will tighten them up, and I’m sure I’ll need a belt for when they inevitably loosen up throughout the day. But despite the weird sizing issue, I will say they are seriously so comfortable and stretchy (two of my necessary qualities in a comfortable pair of plus size jeans). I think comfort is huge when it comes to picking clothes for curvy women, but it’s also important for the Fashion industry to remember that plus Size women also want to look cute. I think Old Navy is doing a really good job with this now, and they definitely cater to a wide variety of customers and they have a large selection of sizes.

I think Loft is also doing a really awesome job with their plus clothes selection. Although, I will say that sometimes I have a hard time understanding the sizing for shirts at loft, because I swear I own extra larges from other stores that look very similar to the size of an 18 top at Loft. Regardless, this shirt is one of my recent finds during a huge sale on marked down Items and I’m so happy that I snagged it! It’s the perfect amount of flowy and cute, and it works for the work week or weekend. Luck for me I can dress more casual for my job so I will get a lot of use out of it!

Let me know in the comments where you buy your favorite jeans from!

Love always,

Dani
